Parramatta Mission

Parramatta Mission helps people with acute needs or who suffer acute neglect. In particular, its services assist people in crises, those living with mental illnesses, and people who are homeless.

Parramatta Mission is an initiative of four local Uniting Church congregations, and one of the biggest providers of community services in Sydney’s west and Hills District. The Mission works in partnership with Federal, State and local governments as well as the business community and other welfare organisations and community groups to support those in need.

Parramatta Mission seeks to create a community with and for people in need. This community is based on human dignity, rights and responsibilities, and ensures that all in it are included, valued and enabled.

BHHP Migrant Resource Centre

The Baulkham Hills Holroyd Parramatta (BHHP) Migrant Resource Centre provides settlement information and referral services for migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds.

The Migrant Resource Centre’s aim is to promote the principles of social justice, access and equity for newly-arrived migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants, by delivering the following services:

  • Information and referral services advice on various settlement issues

Western Sydney Community Forum

The Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) is the peak body for community organisations in the Western Sydney region, representing more than 200 organisations supporting local residents. 

The WSCF represents organisations in the Auburn, Bankstown, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith and Wollondilly local government areas.

The Forum’s goal is to build strong, organised communities, by bridging the divide between community-members and policy-makers at the local, regional, State and national levels. It develops and supports learning-and-development as well as resource programs, to help community organisations meet the needs of disadvantaged people in their communities, and encourage collaboration.

Westmead Millennium Institute

Westmead Millennium Institute is one of the biggest and fastest-growing medical research institutes in Australia. It is closely affiliated with Westmead Hospital and the University of Sydney.
